What we do with your waitlist details
This covers the details you give us when you join the waitlist. It doesn't cover anything else we do, and it doesn't cover letters we post on a contractor's behalf. If you've had a letter and want it to stop, email hello@wiramu.co.uk and we'll deal with it.
Who's responsible
Wiramu Ltd, company number NI718907, registered in Northern Ireland, at TODO(operator): postal_address. We're the data controller for the details on this page.
ICO registration: TODO(operator): ico_registration.
Any question about your data, including any of the requests below, goes to hello@wiramu.co.uk.
What we collect
Only what the form asks for, plus two things the system records itself.
| What | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Your name | So we're writing to a person rather than an inbox. |
| Your email address | It's how we tell you your area has opened. It's the only way we contact you. |
| Your trade | Territories are sold one trade at a time, so your trade decides which list you're on. |
| The area you cover | Same reason. It's what we match against when a territory opens. |
| The page you submitted from | Recorded automatically, so we can tell which page a signup came from. |
| The date and time you joined | Waitlist order is first come, first served, so we have to know when you joined. |
No cookies, no tracking, no analytics, and no advertising pixels. Nothing is collected as you read the page. The only thing that ever reaches us is the form, when you choose to send it.
Why we're allowed to hold it
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you asked to be told when we open your area, and we can't do that without keeping your details. The interest is straightforwardly mutual, we collect the minimum that makes it work, and none of it is a surprise to you because you typed it in yourself.
We only email you about your area and your place in the queue. We won't send you anything else, and we won't sell, rent, share or otherwise pass your details to anybody.
Where it's kept
In a database run for us by Cloudflare, restricted to the European Union. That restriction is set on the database itself rather than being a policy we promise to follow, and it can't be switched off after the fact. Cloudflare processes it on our instructions and for nothing else.
How long we keep it
Until your area opens and you've told us yes or no, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
If we haven't opened your area within two years, we delete your details and you'd need to join again. Keeping a list of people indefinitely for something that might never happen isn't reasonable, and a two-year-old signup is unlikely to still be accurate anyway.
What you can ask us to do
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- show you what we hold about you
- correct it if it's wrong
- delete it
- send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format
- stop using it, or restrict what we do with it
- object to us holding it at all, given our basis is legitimate interests
Email hello@wiramu.co.uk. We'll respond within one month, and there's nothing to pay. You don't have to give a reason for a deletion request and we won't ask for one.
If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We'd rather you told us first so we can put it right, but you're not obliged to.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we'll change this page, and the date below with it. If a change materially affects you, we'll email you rather than expecting you to notice.
